About the race

Run For Health, Run For Humanity

Our mission

The Tanzania Red Cross Society works to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it is found. From emergency response and blood services to community health and disaster preparedness, our volunteers serve millions across the country every year.

Why a marathon?

Arusha — the gateway to the Serengeti and home to Mount Meru — is one of East Africa's most iconic running destinations. We created the Red Cross Marathon Arusha to turn that natural beauty into a force for good: every bib funds humanitarian work, and every kilometre carries a story of hope.

The inaugural edition

2026 marks the very first Red Cross Marathon Arusha — a milestone for our movement in Tanzania. Born from a partnership between the Arusha branch, local athletics clubs, and dedicated volunteers, this inaugural race lays the foundation for what we hope becomes an annual tradition uniting runners and the Red Cross mission for years to come.
